Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Conducting daily inspections and performing installations, general maintenance, and repairs across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.* Identifying, communicating, coordinating, and completing projects and work assignments within designated area(s).* Responding to emergency situations, evaluating issues, and correcting defects as needed.* Leading a team of facilities maintenance technicians **or** serving as the sole maintenance technician for outpatient health care complexes exceeding 110,000 square feet.* Mentoring, training, and providing technical expertise to other staff members.* Distributing work orders in the supervisor’s absence.* Assisting other trades as needed.* Adhering to all safety practices and procedures.* Cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment.* Attending meetings and completing required documentation accurately and promptly.* Providing a high level of customer service and communicating effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors through written, electronic, and verbal methods and devices.* Operating a department vehicle.* Performing other duties as assigned.The position actively supports the university’s value of acting with integrity and personal accountability, helping to foster a culture of professionalism in the workplace.This role primarily works first shift; however, shift, hours, days, and/or work location may change based on operational needs, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Overtime may be required. The position is subject to 24-hour emergency calls.**Required Experience:*** High school diploma/GED **or** an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Valid driver's licenses* Three (3) years of general maintenance experience **or** an equivalent combination of education and experience, including three years in a team-oriented, multifunction environment.* Ability to obtain the following during the probationary period:
+ Valid OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health card.
+ Demonstrated understanding of university Building Design Standards (BDS) related to building system and equipment maintenance and repair.
+ Demonstrated understanding of the project process as managed by FOD Design and Construction (FDC).* Successful completion of the probationary period, including demonstrated competence in each of the required technical specialties for this position’s level of responsibility: **carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/R**.## Additional Information:The target hiring range for this job profile is $25.35 - $31.69 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.## Location:Kinnear Rd, 1100 (0373)## Position Type:Regular## Scheduled Hours:40## **Shift:**First Shift***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
