Certified Surgical Technologist II

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located in Woodbridge, VA is looking for a Full-time Day shift Certified Surgical Tech II Overview The Surgical Technologist II ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and using critical thinking to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. The role involves maintaining patient safety and ensuring that the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile.

The Surgical Technologist assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas.

Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.

Works closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth and effective procedures.

Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members.

Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice of aseptic and surgical techniques.

Education

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Graduate of Surgical Technologist

Certification/Licensure

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience
