Reports To: Animal Care & Behavior Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Pay Rate: $16.00 Hourly Summary The Behavior Support Coordinator assists the Behavior Coordinator and Animal Care & Behavior Manager with administrative tasks including data entry, phone calls, and scheduling. Responsible for routinely reviewing files for accurate data, providing input on data trends related to behavior, and communicating with the appropriate teams to resolve discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide post-adoption support to adopters via all communication channels.

Refer clients to partner organizations for behavioral consultations.

Provide excellent service to all clients and organizational stakeholders.

Complete client registrations for training classes; review related documents.

Monthly review of behavior data trends, including returns and support requests; collaborate with Animal Care & Behavior Manager on appropriate next steps.

Schedule volunteers with trainers for behavior and event handling classes.

Schedule staff with trainers for 1:1 or group behavior and handling sessions.

Bi-weekly review of current animals on campus to ensure behavioral follow ups are reflected and scheduled.

Data entry of volunteer forms into ShelterLuv database.

Data entry of behavioral notes into ShelterLuv database.

Assist with set up and breakdown of public training classes.

Maintain accurate recordkeeping for all interactions with clients in database.

Keep inventory of supplies used/needed.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Contribute to a workplace conducive to high employee morale and output, ensuring positive working relationships between clients, staff, and volunteers.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of animal shelter operations, preferred.

Understanding of common behaviors in dogs and cats, required.

Ability to speak in a public setting and engage the public, required.

Must support the League’s mission, policies and practices.

Must be well versed in Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Ability to problem solve.

Experience working in a customer service setting, required.

Ability to work in a constantly changing team environment.

Ability to provide accurate information at all times.

Must be able to work weekends.

Ability to multitask, organize, perform detailed tasks efficiently and effectively.

Must adhere to the company’s dress code.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or higher

One year customer service experience required

Computer Skills

Working knowledge of publishing programs

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Working knowledge of ShelterLuv a plus

Working knowledge of Scheduling software (Setmore, Bookings, etc.)

Materials and Equipment Used

Computer, printer, copier, scanner

Cleaning and sanitizing chemicals

Wheeled Carts

Physical Demands

Consistently required to stand, move, and kneel or crouch.

Constantly required to talk, hear, and use hands for grasping, reaching and other operative tasks.

Frequently required to stand and sit.

Frequently required to bend neck and twist body.

Consistently required to lift an animate or stationary object of up to 50 pounds.

Exposure to bio-material while holding animals for exams and performing other tasks.

Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.

Frequent exposure to animal related odors, fumes and airborne particles, and moderate heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
