Business Assistant
to support our front office and contribute to exceptional patient care.
As a Business Assistant, you’ll work in an environment that encourages learning, team cohesion, and patient focus, while supporting the clinical and business needs of our dental office.
About the Role
Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office.
Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records.
Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers.
File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits and explain coverage.
Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables.
Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Working Hours
Monday–Thursday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Regular HIPAA training and protection of PHI required.
Preferred Experience
1 + year(s) in a dental or medical setting.
1 + year(s) with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
Dentrix or other dental software experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically.
TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN).
