Speech Language Pathologist Per Diem Days – CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center
Pay range: $69.47/hr – $80.66/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) has been serving the Hollywood community since 1924 with more than 500 physicians representing virtually every specialty.
Position Summary Organizes and conducts speech therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Directs patient participation in selected takes to restore, reinforce and enhance performance. Facilitates the learning of those skill and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct pathology and to promote and maintain health. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the age groups served by this department, from neonatal through geriatric.
Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Written evaluation of new speech therapy patients.
Reassessment of ongoing patients.
Develop and adjust patient treatment plan.
Develop objectives and measurable goals with specific time frames.
Patient, family and community education.
Provide rehabilitative speech therapy care to inpatients and/or outpatients including patient/resident treatment, response and progress.
Documentation of progress notes and flow sheets/charts according to guidelines of the department, Medicare, Worker’s Compensation or other specific payors.
Written discharge assessment notes.
Minimum Education
Graduate with a Master’s of Arts or Science degree from an ASHA approved school of Speech Therapy.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
1 year experience preferred (accepting new graduates).
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation
California State SLP License
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Eligibility for membership in the ASHA
Adherence to Code of Ethics of the ASHA
Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire)
Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)
Fire Card (within 30 days of employment)
