Position Overview Under the general direction of the Quality Manager, the qualified candidate will perform analytical, chemical and physical tests required for quality control of raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods. The candidate will participate in investigations and studies to determine causes, effects and corrective actions, sample and inspect materials, adhere to safety procedures, and assist in achieving process reliability goals.
Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing and record, maintain and review results/data in the SAP System.
Use a variety of test methods, procedures and instrumentation.
Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
Initiate and document Quality Notifications/DMRs/DMAs, participate in cross‑functional root‑cause analysis and facilitate follow‑up and resolution.
Interpret data and provide direction to the manufacturing group to ensure products meet established specifications.
Prepare samples of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods for external testing, including environmental testing.
Perform COA verification and raw material sampling.
Maintain Food Safety and Defense requirements according to McCormick and regulatory standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
HS diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1–2 years of related experience (manufacturing experience acceptable).
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
Knowledge of PC software and data entry.
Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision; excellent written and oral communication skills.
Color vision and depth perception required.
May be required to occasionally wear a PAPR on the production floor.
Regular attendance and willingness to work mandatory overtime and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
4‑year college degree in science (food science, chemistry, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
Experience working in food manufacturing.
Statistical knowledge preferred.
Pay range:
$19.73 – $29.59 per hour.
