Job Summary Responsible for the delivery of excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals, planning and implementing interventions and evaluating patient care outcomes. With staff nurse’s professional practice, responsible for participating in and maintaining quality, cost effectiveness and guest relations. Provide patient care in compliance with hospital policies, procedures and the standards of professional nursing practice as defined by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
Responsibilities
Assessment: Perform admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition, provide nursing care to meet physical, psychological and spiritual needs, and notify the doctor of significant changes.
Planning: Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care; provide patient/family teaching and transition of care to an appropriate level of discharge; collaborate with other disciplines to meet specialized needs.
Implementation: Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments and surgeries; report significant changes; implement patient‑safety initiatives and protocols, including medication safety, physician orders, and consult notifications.
Evaluation: Reassess patients at appropriate intervals, notify the physician to modify interventions, and adjust nursing care to meet emerging needs.
Reporting: Use Bedside Shift Report to give and receive accurate, comprehensive reports, ensuring continuity of care.
Job Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Diploma.
At least one year of RN experience.
Registered Nurse license in Texas (RN:TX).
Basic Life Support – AHA BLS certification.
