POSITION SUMMARY The Equipment Operator manages motorized riding equipment within the Distribution Center, manually loads and unloads trailers, transports merchandise to designated areas, and performs other special projects as assigned. The role includes cross‑training in other departments and may require carrying out special projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
Operate motorized riding equipment.
Load or unload trailers by hand (grills, tree stands, safes, kayaks, etc.).
Transports product to appropriate staging or processing areas.
Load outbound trailers.
Route received merchandise to storage area and provide positive identification.
Use scanners to read barcodes on labels and product.
Operate equipment in storage racking up to 30 ft tall.
Perform safety checks.
Assist in daily cleanup duties.
Drive equipment 75% or greater of time in position.
Perform manual or physical duties as required by DC needs.
All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum age 18.
Successful completion of a driving test and written test is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Ability to be machine certified.
Production standards and accuracy are especially important.
Communicate with fellow employees courteously and professionally; be a team player.
Multitasking skills.
Commitment to safety rules and procedures.
Availability for a flexible schedule with mandatory overtime when scheduled.
Pay close attention to detail and work well with numbers.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
No travel is required for this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Repetitive walking, standing, kneeling, bending, stretching, and climbing; step ladder use during shift and overtime.
Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying 50 lbs. during shift and overtime.
Good hand‑eye coordination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor, non‑climate‑controlled environment.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Performs tasks under direct supervision; work reviewed by supervisor. Limited independent judgment available.
