Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. They are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals, and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
Major Responsibilities
Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials where appropriate. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
Interact with students and co‑workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
Demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees, in which every individual feels respected and valued.
Pay Rate
$45.50 per contact hour

Qualifications
Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN) and Practical Nursing (PN) Program Faculty Standard:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license.
The majority of faculty shall hold master’s degrees in nursing.
Faculty with bachelor’s degrees in nursing must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Within one semester of initial appointment, must have a written academic plan of study for completion of a Master’s degree in nursing.
Provides ongoing documentation (each semester) demonstrating matriculation towards completion of a Master’s degree in nursing.
Continued employment of a person who does not hold a master’s degree in nursing shall be contingent upon documented progress towards their approved academic plan.
Must demonstrate ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees, in which every individual feels respected and valued.
