Job Summary Food Service Worker responsible for preparing, serving, and managing food services in a 168‑bed nursing home facility. Works across multiple shifts and contributes to a welcoming dining environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Job Responsibilities
Serve food to residents and employees
Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation practices
Set up and tear down dining and salad bar areas for meals
Use portion control utensils and adhere to diet, texture, and special instructions
Monitor and record food temperatures with a thermometer
Deliver meal and snack items to nursing unit dining rooms and kitchenettes
Portion foods into individual servings, label, date, and store perishable items or leftovers
Cook, grill, fry, toast, and prepare fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, desserts, dressings, and beverages
Fulfill and serve food & drink orders in a restaurant‑style capacity
Operate kitchen and cleaning equipment (grill, dishwasher, oven, mixer, coffee maker, etc.)
Receive stock deliveries and secure frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods
Qualifications Formal education in reading and speaking common English vocabulary and basic arithmetic. Equivalent experience may satisfy the minimum qualifications. Unskilled labor class – exempt from written examination.
