Compensation & Benefits
$15,000 Commitment Bonus eligible if qualified, plus $5,000 Kicker Bonus

Job Description Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of practice. Work is performed in accordance with physician orders for adult patients.
Duties & Responsibilities
Administer oxygen and aerosolized medication via Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB), Intermittent Aerosol Therapy (IAT), Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI), and incentive breathing devices.
Perform nasotracheal and artificial airway suctioning, CPR, bag‑mask ventilation, pulse oximetry monitoring, arterial blood gas punctures, and bedside pulmonary mechanics.
Conduct diagnostic cardiopulmonary procedures, pulmonary function studies, EKGs, and cardiac monitoring.
Ensure correct set‑up, safety, and function of all equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
Adhere to all infectious disease standards in all patient care procedures.
Understand pharmacologic indications, dosages, and responses to adverse drug reactions.
Provide education to patients, families, physicians, nursing, and other healthcare team members.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications At This Level Education
Completion of an AMA‑approved two‑year Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent program.
RCP Advanced
Completion of a two‑year AMA‑approved respiratory care program (Associate’s Degree or equivalent).
Annual skill maintenance and safety/compliance requirements.
North Carolina annual license CEU requirements.
Experience
RCP: None required.
RCP Advanced: Six months to one year of clinical experience following graduation from a respiratory care program.
Degrees, Licensure, and Certification
RCP: North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License, Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). If Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), must obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within six months of employment.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any applicable certifications required by the institution.
RCP Advanced: North Carolina State Licensure, Registry (RRT) by NBRC, BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) if applicable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge necessary to make appropriate clinical decisions relative to patient age.
Skills validation and certifications of competencies for duties and responsibilities.
Annual skill and safety/compliance maintenance.
North Carolina annual license CEU maintenance.
Customer service and communication expertise.
Ability to work with patients of all ages, families, physicians, nursing, and other healthcare team members.
Work performed in all areas of the hospital.
Capacity to carry emergency airway bag (approximately 20 pounds).
Physical ability to walk, run, climb, and bend.
