This is a full-time position in the Early Childhood Education program. The Child Care Aide 2 is under close supervision by the Director and Lead Teacher. The Child Care Aide 2 is responsible for implementing program goals and classroom objectives, and performing related work as required for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years old. Job Duties
Assists in directing and directs activities of children in program. Assists with supervision of small and large groups of children. Assists children with self-help skills. Works with individual children on specific tasks and helps with serving meals and snacks. Helps in planning and developing each day’s activities. Assists with the preparation and presentation of educational materials. Records, evaluates, assesses and updates regularly class attendance, etc. Attends all related training and seminars. Attends all parent related activities, conducts or assists with parent conferences. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of child care experience. Early childhood Education Credential (CDA) or higher is preferred. Applicant is required to obtain CDA within 6 months. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of instructional methods, materials and program operations for six (6) weeks to five (5) years. Knowledge of recreational activities associated with creative play. Knowledge of the psychological and biological needs of children. Ability to make decisions, both within and outside the guidelines of established procedures. Ability to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, children, and other employees.
