About the Role
We are seeking candidates for apprenticeship opportunities available at our facilities in Midland, MI and Auburn, MI within the U.S. Apprenticeship Program. Apprentices will participate in a 2-4 year program offering hands‑on work experience while attending community college to earn a company‑paid Associate’s degree. Apprentices will receive paid tuition, wages, and benefits. Upon completion, Apprentices will earn an Associate’s degree in a technical discipline and be highly considered for a full‑time position. Apprentices who successfully complete will commit to working for Dow for 2 years upon receiving a full‑time offer.
Hourly Rate:
at least $21.69 (non‑negotiable)
Expected Hire Date:
June 8th, 2026 (latest August 3rd, 2026)
Responsibilities
Routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
Controlling, monitoring, and adjusting all control systems and manually operated equipment.
Properly lifting hoses, bolt flanges, and operating valves and similar equipment, including clearing and isolating equipment.
Following operating discipline, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshooting process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems and identifying equipment requiring maintenance.
Performing maintenance and project work safely and efficiently.
Clearing and tagging equipment as required and issuing Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work.
Performing all duties with a high degree of safety and environmental stewardship.
Educational Requirements
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
Completed Algebra or Technical Math and Science coursework in High School. Completion of Chemistry and/or Physics coursework in High School is preferred.
If already enrolled in the degree program related to the field applied for, have no less than 2 full semesters remaining toward the applicable degree.
Must complete college entrance exams/assessments at the community college to be attended (no remedial or transitional coursework).
Preferred Educational Qualification
Minimum GPA of 2.500 out of 4.000 if currently enrolled in high school or college or graduated within the last 2 years.
Additional Requirements
Current, valid US driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to start date (Motor Vehicle Records check required).
Able to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis (including weekends & holidays) and work overtime, when needed.
Legal in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Time Management: Effectively manage time to ensure completion of tasks and uphold production schedules.

Physical Demands
Lift 50 pounds, lift hoses, bolt flanges, and operate valves routinely.
Climb ladders/stairs and work at heights.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300 lbs.
Work in tight or closed‑in spaces.
Work comfortably and safely at elevated heights; training in safety equipment maintenance may be required.
