Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.
POSITION SUMMARY The candidate must have extensive experience reviewing DSCR, jumbo, and bank statement loans. This individual will be responsible for managing a pipeline and working directly with sellers to resolve conditions. In addition, responsibilities will include working closely with capital markets and credit policy teams to ensure loans are purchased in accordance with Bayview’s origination and purchase policies and with the underwriting team to ensure consistency amongst credit decisions.
Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities as requested. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.
Provide eligibility support to a network of correspondent sellers
Approve exceptions as authorized
Foster strong relationships with sellers’ underwriting and post-closing teams
Work with sellers to clear due diligence conditions
Ensure loan documents are accurate, complete, and sufficient to clear all conditions for final loan approval
Review and evaluate loan files for risk issues and potential for fraud/misrepresentation
Analyze appraisals for valuation accuracy
Any other assigned duties from management as necessary
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of Mortgage Banking practices, procedures, and laws
Strong understanding of the operational responsibilities involved in the purchase and sale/securitization of whole loan assets as it pertains to credit quality
Comfortable negotiating complex issues and problem solving
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point
Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening and presenting findings and recommendations
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, staff, and external contacts
Work effectively in a professional team environment
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Minimum 6 years’ experience in an underwriting or underwriting auditor role
Compensation and location
This is a hybrid position based in Bayview's Denver, CO office
Base compensation is expected to be $90,000-$100,000
