Professional Development Specialist (Full-Time)
Starting Salary : $92,000 annually (and higher based on years of experience)

The Professional Development Specialist advances clinical excellence, workforce readiness, and community engagement through the design and delivery of high‑quality education across Samaritan and its partners. The role leads clinical onboarding, competency assessment, and continuing education for the interdisciplinary team‑hospice aides, LPNs, RNs, social workers, chaplains, advanced practice providers and physicians.
What You'll Do The specialist serves as the Primary Planner for accredited continuing education under Joint Accreditation standards, directs the Speakers Bureau, and delivers evidence-based education to long‑term care, assisted living, and health partners. Through instructional design, coaching, and strategic collaboration, the Professional Development Specialist strengthens clinical practice and enhances patient outcomes across the healthcare continuum.

What You'll Bring
Registered Nurse (RN), State of New Jersey.
MSN, EdD, or equivalent. Adult learning coursework or certification preferred.
Hospice and Palliative Certification (preferred).
CE planner training (JA, ACCME, ANCC) strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical and/or public health experience.
Demonstrated experience in adult education, curriculum development, and continuing education planning.
Experience with clinical competencies, onboarding, and interprofessional education preferred.
Experience with learning technologies, instructional design, and learning management systems (LMS) platforms.
Demonstrated experience in adult education, curriculum development, and continuing education planning.
