Job Summary Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Financial Aid, this position serves as the initial contact via phone, in-person and via email correspondence for current and prospective students and their families as well as general public inquires; does document in-take; and completes necessary reviews of financial aid files to ensure accuracy of awards and disbursement of financial aid.

Responsibilities Perform initial contact with students, families, and public inquiries via phone, in-person, and e‑mail.

Conduct intake documentation and complete review of financial aid files for accuracy of awards and disbursement.

Maintain caseload and set priorities to meet fluctuating and time‑sensitive deadlines.

Provide individual and group advisement on routine matters to a diverse student population.

Key Qualifications

General knowledge of research and interview techniques, including the ability to obtain factual information through interviews.

General knowledge of the principles of individual and group behavior.

Ability to advise students individually and in groups on routine matters.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a caseload and set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time‑sensitive deadlines.

Ability to successfully interact with a diverse student population and to assess student needs.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four‑year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job‑related field. One year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level.

Equivalent amounts of graduate level job‑related education may be substituted for the required experience.

Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Salary and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Range: $53,784 – $58,000 Per Year

Classification Range: $49,800 – $60,912 Per Year

Compensation is based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
