Purpose of Position To serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track, delivering high‑quality education, advising, and clinical services to students and the institution.
Duties & Responsibilities
90% – Teaching and advising students in the PMHNP track (includes advising independent study projects). Potential courses:
NURS 538 Psychiatric Diagnostic Reasoning
NURS 583 Individual Therapy
NURS 584 Group and Family Therapy
NURS 564 Psychopharmacology
NURS 588 Management of Psychopathology I
NURS 589 Management of Psychopathology II
NURS 598 Advanced Clinical Practicum
10% – Service to the University, College, and/or Department (specific duties coordinated with department chair)
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in nursing
Certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner across the lifespan
Ability to obtain license in ND and other states as required
Current clinical experience as a PMHNP
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
High‑level oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Commitment to the profession's values and collegiality
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in APN education
