Overview
At SCAD, service design sits at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and human-centered thinking. As a professor of service design, you will join a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where you’ll guide students to become design leaders who create meaningful, impactful service experiences.
You’ll support both graduate and undergraduate students as they think systemically about how services are designed, delivered, and experienced—leading them through real-world challenges across industries like healthcare, retail, finance, and government. With access to outstanding resources and interdisciplinary collaboration, you’ll help shape the next generation of changemakers.
Responsibilities
Support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts by contributing to the university’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.
Attend on-ground and virtual activities such as admission events, faculty councils, exhibitions, and more.
Participate in curriculum assessment and development meetings, accreditation support, institutional effectiveness meetings, or other publicity assignments.
Adhere to all university policies.
Qualifications
Terminal degree or its equivalent in the discipline or in a relevant field
Experience in service design field

Travel required: Less than 10%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
