Summary
The Accounting Supervisor reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across designated companies within Self Esteem Brands. This role oversees critical accounting activities, manages the monthly close process, and supports internal and external reporting in accordance with GAAP, corporate policies, and audit requirements.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical accounting background, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while developing and mentoring a high-performing team.**Purpose/Impact: (Duties & Essential Functions)****Financial Close & Reporting*** Manage the monthly close process, ensuring all costs are properly recorded, journal entries are reviewed and posted, account reconciliations are completed, and reports are prepared accurately and on time* Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts each period; identify and correct accounting errors* Prepare detailed journal entries, account analyses, and monthly adjusting entries* Review general ledger expense postings, accruals, and budget-to-actual variances; research and explain significant variances* Produce standardized monthly internal reporting and ad hoc financial analysis as needed* Support year-end audit and tax schedules in coordination with the Controller and external auditors**Accounting Operations*** Oversee accounting operations, including transaction processing, control systems, and policies and procedures* Manage accounts receivable and collections, fixed asset tracking (additions and disposals), sales commission calculations, and other core accounting functions* Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and GAAP* Serve as backup support for key accounting functions as needed**Leadership & People Management*** Co-manage and mentor 1–3 direct reports across accounting and accounts payable* Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, set annual goals, and support professional development of team members* Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as needed* Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team environment**Process Improvement & Strategic Support*** Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and business practices to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort* Participate in strategic financial projects, including system upgrades and process redesign* Design and enhance financial analyses and reporting to provide executive leadership with insight into financial performance and key business metrics* Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts as requested**Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Support*** Partner with internal teams and business leaders to support accurate reporting and financial understanding* Respond to franchisee questions and provide coaching on financial matters and performance metrics* Train internal franchise consultants on financial results and brand performance indicators* Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive, collaborative “FUNance” culture**Strengths*** Strong technical accounting knowledge and GAAP expertise* Process improvement and systems optimization mindset* Highly detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven* Superior analytical and problem-solving skills* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across levels and functions* High integrity, initiative, and ownership of work product* Hands-on leadership style in a fast-paced environment**Background Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred)* CPA license or actively pursuing certification (preferred)* 6–10 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience* 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience* Public accounting experience preferred* Experience in middle-market, multi-unit, and/or consumer-focused industries preferred* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required**Core Competencies*** Attention to Detail* Consistency and Reliability* Initiative* Practical Thinking* Sense of Timing* Organized Workplace**Salary Range:** $105k - $125kWe offer a competitive salary along with exceptional benefits such as:* Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage* Hybrid Work Environment* Life and Disability Insurance* Unlimited Time off + Paid Holidays* Fridays off between Memorial Day and Labor Day* 401(K) Savings Plan Matching at 4%* 10 Coaching and Therapy sessions* Mental Health Benefits* Brand Discounts & Reimbursements* In-house workout facilities* Professional Development Opportunities* Team Building, Employee Engagement Activities & so much more**WORK SCHEDULE**
