Job Summary / Description The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of weather experience and be able to handle a 2-hour newscast. We provide the tools needed to tackle our challenging weather patterns, from severe weather outbreaks to tornadoes to the rare high‑impact winter events. Our five‑person team works with the IBM MAX system, paired with a local network of HD cameras, to deliver the best weather coverage in the market. The candidate must be able to create team moments, manage First Alert Weather Days, and present a warm presence to the audience. Responsibilities include communicating with the Weather team, the Assignment Manager, and the Assistant News Director to anchor a fast‑paced, smoothly sequenced, accurate forecast daily. Primary job duties and responsibilities also encompass additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology is recommended.

Can cover a variety of weather events while gaining valuable experience and showcasing knowledge.
