We are looking for a skilled Coffee Technician to join our team and ensure our customers enjoy exceptional coffee every day. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our brewing equipment in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate is a mechanically inclined, safety-conscious individual with a basic understanding of equipment repair principles and the ability to effectively maintain, repair, and re-program various coffee equipment.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary, face-to-face representative of La Colombe while engaging with clients
Act as the liaison between the corporate office, client services, and clients, ensuring seamless communication and support
Maintain accurate records in SalesLogix and MAS systems related to machine support
Execute work orders, manage machine agreements, and address service tickets promptly
Conduct bench testing of new equipment upon delivery, ensuring readiness before installation
Refurbish used coffee equipment to extend its lifespan and prepare it for reinstallation
Oversee the removal and replacement of equipment as needed
Coordinate parts ordering and logistics with the home office to ensure timely and efficient operations
Maintain a well-stocked van with inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment for installations
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining large industrial appliances; experience with coffee machines is a plus
Technical Skills: Ability to follow service call and installation procedures provided by management, with the flexibility to adapt to emergency situations and changing circumstances
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Multitasking: Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
Time Management: Able to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and work independently without direct supervision
