Overview System One is seeking experienced

Civil/Structural Design Engineers

to support multiple

commercial nuclear projects

across the U.S. This position involves developing

design modification packages

(calculations, specifications, analysis, etc.) under

design standard IP-ENG-001 .

Engineers will evaluate systems and develop

Design Change Packages (DCPs)

for systems including turbine, generator, main power transformer, cooling, and control systems.

Positions are open for

mid-level and junior-level engineers . Mid-level candidates must have commercial nuclear experience; junior-level candidates do not require nuclear background but it is strongly preferred.

Work can be performed

remotely or onsite , depending on candidate location. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute design modification packages (calcs, specs, analysis, reports) in accordance with IP-ENG-001

Perform basic design and analysis of concrete, steel structures, heavy load components, and equipment supports

Develop plans, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

Create 3‑D analytical models using FEA and seismic analysis techniques

Support the development of design and construction drawings

Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to ensure integration and accuracy

Conduct field investigations, installation support, and as‑built documentation

Ensure assigned tasks meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program

2–5 years of progressively responsible experience in design engineering

Experience with Design Change Packages and standard IP-ENG-001

Strong background in civil/structural mechanics, hydraulics, materials science, and statistical analysis

Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and tools such as Mathcad, Matlab, or equivalent

Excellent technical writing and communication skills

U.S. Citizenship or permanent work authorization required
