Our client, a leader in innovative environmental solutions, is seeking a Sr. Python Engineer to join their team. As a Sr. Python Engineer, you will be part of the Research and Development department supporting multidisciplinary teams including software engineers, data scientists, and computational engineers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a passion for developing sustainable technology solutions, which will align successfully in the organization. Responsibilities
Contribute to a diverse Python codebase that models Carbon Capture and Sequestration systems. Lead efforts in organizing and applying software engineering standards to enhance code robustness, maintainability, and extensibility. Collaborate with data scientists and computational engineers to refactor prototype models into production-quality code. Improve performance and optimize code related to scientific and financial models. Establish and promote best practices in software development, including coding standards and code reviews. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, quantitative sciences, or mathematics, or significant practical software project experience. 5+ years of meaningful Python project experience with complex, modular, or object-oriented code. Proficiency with pandas and numpy libraries, with experience optimizing their performance. Experience integrating testing frameworks like pytest, writing unit tests, and organizing CI/CD pipelines. Strong technical communication and collaboration skills, with experience working within Agile teams. Benefits
