Overview
JHNA is currently seeking a Senior Systems Admin to join our NAVAIR team in Patuxent River, MD. As a System Administrator supporting
NAVAIR , you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation.
This is a fully on-site position which will require in-person support at NAS Pax River. Please note an active
Top Secret Clearance
is required to be considered for this role.
Role / Responsibilities
Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users.
Provide technical assistance to computer users.
Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network system.
Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems.
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities.
Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages.
Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution.
Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning.
Required Qualifications
Must have current Top Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required. U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
At least 6-8 years of relevant experience (experience performing System Administration functions. Ideally on Aircraft or Weapons Systems networks, and maintaining and upgrading network infrastructures across the NAVAIR community)
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university
Experience with the following:
VMware/vSphere Enterprise
Linux
Software development environment
Atlassian tools
Familiarity with the following:
Windows Server
SAN
Networking
STIGs
ACAS
COMPTIA Security+ or other DOD INST 8570 compliant qualification required.
Operating system certification (i.e. Windows or Linux).
Knowledge of networking principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative principles and concepts.
JHNA is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employees. The salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
