We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the leadership and clinical excellence of our nursing department.
Position Overview: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
The Assistant Director of Nursing works closely with the Director of Nursing to manage and support nursing operations throughout the facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, quality resident care, staff oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives within a long-term care and rehabilitation environment.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Nursing with overall management of the nursing department
Support compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements related to nursing and physician documentation
Ensure facility and regional policies and procedures are consistently implemented
Conduct daily rounds to direct staff, observe for hazards, identify workflow issues, and ensure resident services align with care needs
Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and corrective action follow-ups
Monitor each unit daily to ensure changes in resident status are properly reported, documented, and addressed
Complete chart audits under the direction of the Director of Nursing, report findings, and recommend improvements
Ensure proper infection control practices are followed throughout the facility
Maintain effective, professional communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff
Qualifications:
Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience
At least one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience
Experience in long-term care or working with the geriatric population preferred
Strong organizational, planning, and personnel management skills
Ability to read reports, interpret data, and utilize information accurately
Proven ability to coordinate departmental operations and collaborate with other departments
