Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the frontline representative of the company, interacting directly with patients as part of their routine healthcare or life-defining health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established policies and procedures. This role requires professionalism, accuracy, and compassion to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients.
The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and accuracy. Assignments may include working in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Specimen Collection
Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures
Draw blood specimens in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner
Provide phlebotomy services for pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure comfort and understanding
Patient Verification & Documentation
Verify patient demographic information and initials
Obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling
Ensure specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence
Maintain accurate records and required documentation
Workplace Standards & Professionalism
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervisor direction
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive company image
Uphold confidentiality and patient data accuracy

Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime
Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice
Must be punctual, dependable, and able to stay for the entire scheduled shift
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated
Transportation & Travel
Reliable personal transportation required (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not acceptable)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable
Must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the assigned work location
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred
Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Experience Requirements
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required (pediatric, geriatric, and capillary)
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
Customer service experience in a retail or service setting highly preferred
Keyboarding and data entry experience required
