Technical Design Engineer
is responsible for supporting development from concept to release of new products. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively and develop project management skills, ideal for engineers seeking career growth beyond individual contributions. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and manage product requirements for new and derivative products based on market needs. Lead design, development, testing, and listing of new or derivative products. Perform engineering analyses (FEA, thermal, etc.). Collaborate with small cross-functional teams from concept to launch. Interact with customers to define and clarify needs, translating them into product requirements. Create engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, installation guides, service pages, and test specs. Analyze and resolve technical problems with supportable solutions. Support Sales and Marketing during pre- and post-sales activities. Analyze field failures and implement corrective and preventative measures. Knowledge/Skills Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Experience in product development and system integration, preferably in Solar Utility. 5-8 years in designing AC and DC power systems, familiar with >1KV DC power. Knowledge of DFM principles. Pay Range (California):
