Basic Job Functions:
Resolve ongoing equipment safety & reliability challenges Identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes to reduce costs Plan, prepare, & execute down-day & outage work Support the shift team with maintaining daily operations Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities Be a Subject Matter Expert on area equipment Ensure adequate sparing Provide effective communication to both the Maintenance & Production team Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience SMAW and/or GTAW, GMAW welding experience Practical metal cutting & fabrication skills Ability to interface with Work Order & Safety computer systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Steel Mill Experience Prior mechanical experience within heavy industry Prior experience with various mobile equipment Demonstrated high initiative
