We are working with the CEO of a leading REIT based in Nassau County, NY. They are looking for a dynamic Chief Accounting Officer to join their team and step into the shoes of a retiring CFO. Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial and accounting operations.
Lead the financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
Supervise and mentor a Controller and a Junior Accountant.
Manage cash flow, capital structure, and financial performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Public Accounting experience (Audit or Assurance).
Exposure to the Real Estate industry either in Public Accounting or Corporate.
5+ years of supervision experience at the Controller level or higher.
Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and reporting for public companies.
Preferences:
CPA certification.
Experience coming directly from the Big 4 with public real estate clients.
