Responsibilities
Focus on confidentiality, privacy and information protection; provide legal advice on confidentiality and privacy issues and contribute to information protection efforts.
Support enterprise‑wide technology initiatives by advising on confidentiality and privacy standards, emphasizing the use of AI tools and firm transformation initiatives.
Provide legal advice to the Information Incident Response Team (IIRT) for effective management of information and cybersecurity incidents.
Assist the business in designing and implementing data access permissions and data reuse initiatives that align with legal and contractual obligations, professional responsibility and firm policy.
Collaborate closely with Ethics and Compliance and Risk Management teams to address and resolve issues related to confidentiality, privacy and information protection.
Work with the Policy Office to draft and review firm policies that relate to the subject matter expertise, including privacy policies.
Qualifications
Minimum eight years of recent experience as an attorney in a law firm, government agency, in‑house legal department or any combination; Big 4 or professional services experience is a plus.
JD or LLM from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S., including in the state in which the office is located.
Demonstrated knowledge of confidentiality, privacy and information protection principles; experience advising on information incidents and responsive strategies.
Familiarity with reviewing technology initiatives, especially those involving AI and data management.
Strong collaborative skills with a proven ability to liaise effectively with Ethics and Compliance and Risk Management teams and to communicate clearly with business stakeholders.
Competence in policy drafting and revision, with meticulous attention to detail.
