Applications must include a current resume and a cover letter detailing applicable experience and accomplishments.**Job Summary**Job Summary: The Prospect Research Analyst works as a strategic partner with frontline fundraising staff in the Mass General Brigham Academic Medical Centers (AMC) Development Office to provide prospect identification and research support, manage portfolios, track prospect activity, and collaborate around prospect strategies. Reporting to the Director, Prospect Management and Research, the Analyst proactively works to expand the pool of potential prospects and is timely in responding to research requests from members of the frontline fundraising staff.
The Analyst must apply creative thinking and be curious, focused, and persistent in pursuing threads of information. They should be capable of interpreting complex documents, including corporate proxy statements and insider stock filings, and possess excellent writing skills. They must be able to identify and adapt to shifting priorities, be flexible and resourceful, and exercise professionalism and discretion in working with confidential information.
The Analyst provides administrative support to the Assistant Vice President, Prospect Management and Research, including calendar management, data entry, preparations and follow-up for meetings and events, business expenses and travel arrangements, and troubleshooting and resolving issues independently.
Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)
List up to 6-9 key outcome-based roles and responsibilities of this job.
• Proactively identify major and principal gift prospects with a focus on assessing giving capacity and finding connections to the AMCs.
• Make assignment recommendations for newly identified prospects.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date information on prospects and donors.
• Track and disseminate news and information about donors and prospects.
• Conduct research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of prospect research resources and prepare confidential biographical and financial profiles for members of the development staff, senior management, trustee leadership, and key volunteers.
• Monitor requests sent to the Prospect Research email inbox.
• Aid in the management of the Prospect Research budget, including the timely processing of vendor contracts and invoices.
• Assist with internal and external meeting coordination, preparation and follow up as needed. Anticipate and independently manage all logistics, agendas and other materials for meetings, presentations and events as well as troubleshooting possible issues and organizing follow-up actions.
• Manage the Prospect Research team meeting schedule.
• As needed, coordinate new and/or refresher training for research skills enrichment or using vendor products.
• Provide necessary administrative support to the Assistant Vice President, Prospect Management and Research (AVP).
• Proactively manage the calendar of the AVP, keeping them free of scheduling conflicts.
• As needed, support the research needs of assigned fundraisers/fundraising teams.
• As needed, assist frontline fundraising staff in prioritizing prospect portfolios and encourage the timely review and assignment of newly identified prospects through re-occurring one-on-one portfolio review meetings and collaborative prospect strategy.
• As needed, facilitate the assignment of prospects to portfolios, create portfolios for new staff, and reassign portfolios for departing staff.
• With the AVP and Director, Prospect Management and Research, aid in process improvement initiatives for the Prospect Research team and the entire Development Office.
• Proactively participate in professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to maintaining positive office morale, even in the face of high work volume and challenging periods.**Qualifications**This position requires 2-4 years of related or transferable experience and a bachelor’s degree.
