Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate:

$40–$50/hour ($83,200–$104,000 annually)

On-Call Pay:

$150 per scheduled on‑call shift

Paid Time Off:

Start with 48 hours, increasing to 168 hours with tenure

Paid Holidays:

7 annually (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas)

401(k) Match:

5% employer contribution

Position Overview: Lead Commercial HVAC Technician As a Lead Commercial HVAC Technician, you’ll play a key leadership role supporting your Regional Service Manager and team. You’ll ensure operational excellence, safety, and quality service delivery across your assigned region.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance with company standards

Perform truck inspections (cleanliness, equipment, PPE)

Conduct site assessments (e.g., roof cleanliness, proper disposal of materials)

Verify quality of repairs and installations

Ensure team members have proper PPE and coordinate replenishment

Approve vendors for operational needs

Assist with technician vacation planning and on‑call scheduling

Lead PM completion efforts and ensure accurate documentation

Support training coordination for technicians

Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Manager

Location:

Field‑based role in

Washington, DC

with occasional travel for training or meetings.

Qualifications Experience

5+ years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience

2+ years in a supervisory or lead technician role

Proven ability to manage teams, conduct audits, and ensure safety and quality compliance

Experience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and equipment changeouts

Familiarity with national accounts or multi‑site operations (preferred)

Certifications

EPA Universal Certification

(required)

Additional certifications such as

NATE

or

HVAC Excellence

are a plus

Physical Requirements

Climb ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs.

Lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver in confined spaces

Wear required PPE

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license

Ability to pass drug, background, and driving record checks

Meet enhanced security clearance requirements

Flexibility for overtime and occasional travel

Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in servicing, installing, and troubleshooting:

Commercial HVAC systems

Refrigeration systems and ice machines

Chillers, cooling towers, water source heat pumps

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Familiarity with light commercial equipment

Experience with industry software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FastField, ServiceChannel – preferred but not required)
