The

Department of Surgery

within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), is seeking a highly qualified Trauma/Critical Care Surgeon. This full‑time position will be based at our major affiliated teaching hospitals, with an appointment at the Clinical Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing trauma and critical care services and will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient‑centered care.

Overall duties include:

Serving as attending physician for inpatient trauma and critical care services

Providing consultation, treatment, and follow‑up for trauma and critically ill patients

Teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students

Engaging in clinical and basic science research, as well as participating in clinical trials that promote advancements in trauma and critical care

Leadership responsibilities include:

Serving as a mentor and advisor to junior faculty within the division

Contributing to curriculum development and educational innovation in trauma/critical care surgical training

Participating in departmental committees and strategic planning initiatives

Assisting in quality improvement, patient safety, and program development projects within the Division of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery

Helping foster collaborations across hospital sites and with community partners to expand trauma and critical surgical care and outreach
