The Lab School Administrator is responsible for administering and implementing the university’s Marianist educational mission and policies. The Administrator provides day-to-day educational leadership for the school which includes ensuring that faculty of LRAMLS implement curriculum and instruction grounded in Montessori principles. The Administrator is required to work with the Education Division in ongoing early childhood education research. The LRAMLS is an auxiliary unit under the Vice President of Finance and Facilities. The Administrator reports to the Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education and Montessori Programs and Lab School Liaison. It also reports to an advisory board that is comprised of the Vice President of Finance and Facilities, the Executive Director for Compliance & Human Resources, the Dean of the Education Division, and the Director of Early Childhood and Montessori Programs.

Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Early Childhood Education and current Early Childhood credential from the American Montessori Society (AMS).

Minimum Experience Minimum five (5) years of full-time experience in teaching in a Montessori 3-6 classroom. Full-time experience as an Administrator in an early childhood setting preferred.

General Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Proficient in using computer software and mobile applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps including but not limited to word processing software, spreadsheet software, internet software, email, and database software.

Ability to supervise employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the university and the lab school’s policies and applicable laws.

Ability to address complaints and resolve problems.

Proof of a criminal record clearance.

A physical examination clearance for work with children age two to six.

A current TB screening.

Current CPR training.

Member of the Career Access and Navigation of Early Childhood Systems (CANOES) Registry with the qualification of Director for group child care centers and homes.
