Senior Oncology Nurse Clinician
Position Overview
The Senior Oncology Nurse Clinician provides expert level nursing care to adult oncology patients in outpatient clinic and infusion settings. This role delivers comprehensive, evidence based cancer care across the treatment continuum while serving as a clinical leader, mentor, and patient advocate within a multidisciplinary team.

Monday through Friday 8a to 5p
$50-$55
Key Needs
Expert level oncology nursing experience in outpatient or infusion settings
Proven ability to administer chemotherapy and complex IV therapies safely
Strong leadership presence with mentoring and clinical guidance skills
Excellent patient education, advocacy, and care coordination abilities
Ability to manage complex clinical situations and oncologic emergencies
Primary Job Duties
Perform comprehensive and complex patient assessments and obtain detailed health histories
Develop and implement individualized oncology care plans and symptom management strategies
Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other high risk IV medications following safety protocols
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and initiate appropriate clinical interventions
Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatments, side effects, and care plans using teach back methods
Coordinate care across diagnosis, treatment, and follow up phases with providers and care teams
Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families throughout the cancer journey
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nurses and clinical staff
Lead and participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence based practice initiatives
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient education in the electronic medical record
Participate in leadership activities, professional development, and regulatory compliance efforts
Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Five years of clinical RN experience including oncology nursing
Active Texas RN license or ability to obtain within required timeframe
Current BLS certification
Oncology Nursing Certification or ability to obtain within one year
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing
Ambulatory oncology experience
Bilingual skills
ACLS certification
Chemotherapy administration and moderate sedation training
Working Environment
Outpatient clinical and infusion settings
Exposure to chemotherapy agents, radiation, and blood borne pathogens
Requires prolonged standing, walking, and occasional heavy lifting
Requires focused attention, clinical judgment, and adherence to safety standards
