The Role This role sits within an investment technology group supporting a trading-focused business area covering commodities and derivatives.
You’ll act as the bridge between engineering teams and front-office stakeholders, helping translate real business needs into clear, buildable technology requirements. The work is hands‑on and delivery-focused — understanding workflows, shaping solutions, and supporting systems that are used day to day.
This is a strong fit for someone with asset management experience who enjoys working close to trading, risk, and operations while staying embedded in technology delivery.
What You’ll Be Working On
Acting as the link between business users and engineering teams
Gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements with a clear focus on value
Translating business needs into structured, engineering‑ready documentation
Supporting agile delivery through ticket writing, backlog grooming, and testing
Understanding and improving trading and risk‑related workflows
Assisting with system testing, releases, and production support
Investigating issues and supporting incident resolution
Creating and maintaining clear system and process documentation
What They’re Looking For
Strong experience working in investment management and technology environments
Good understanding of trading, portfolio management, operations, or compliance
Familiarity with derivatives and related data sets
Ability to analyse data and work comfortably with SQLExperience working closely with engineers in agile delivery teams
Clear communicator who can explain complex topics to different audiences
Detail-oriented, curious, and comfortable asking the right questions
Background
Degree in finance, technology, engineering, or a related field
Several years of relevant experience in asset management or financial technology roles
Familiarity with common delivery and collaboration tools
Ability to read code or prototype analytics (Python, R, Java) is a plus, but not required.
