Vice President, Electrical Power Field Service & Control Systems Integration
Salary: $200K to $240K base plus 40% bonus
Location: Flexible / Regional / Headquarters • Reports To: Executive Leadership Team • Travel: ~50%
Overview The organization is a leading OEM-integrator and custom manufacturer of electrical power distribution and industrial control systems, delivering mission-critical solutions across data centers, industrial facilities, utilities, healthcare, and telecom markets. With in-house engineering, manufacturing, systems integration, installation, commissioning, retrofit, controls modernization, testing, and service capabilities, the company supports the full lifecycle of complex electrical and automation infrastructure.
Position Summary The Vice President of Field Service & Systems Integration provides executive leadership and full operational ownership of the
Field Service, Systems Integration, Retrofit, and PLC/Controls Field Execution organizations , as well as the Electrical Equipment Center of Excellence. This role holds end-to-end responsibility for the
service and systems P&L , spanning electrical power infrastructure and industrial controls with equal emphasis.
The role requires executive-level technical fluency across
low- and medium-voltage electrical power systems and PLC- and controls-based automation platforms , ensuring safe, reliable operation, modernization, and lifecycle support of mission-critical facilities.
This executive is accountable for scaling national field operations, integrating electrical and controls service delivery, modernizing legacy systems, improving customer uptime and process reliability, and driving profitable growth across service, integration, and retrofit offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Field Execution: Lead and scale a national organization encompassing
field service, systems integration, retrofits, PLC/controls field execution, and electrical equipment service .
Own and lead the
service and systems P&L
across electrical power services, controls integration, modernization projects, and lifecycle support programs.
Establish standardized execution models and field procedures covering
electrical power equipment and PLC/controls-based systems , ensuring consistency across regions.
Drive continuous improvement in service reliability, execution quality, safety performance, and operational efficiency across both electrical and automation disciplines.
Technical & Operational Oversight: Maintain executive-level technical command of
low- and medium-voltage electrical power systems
(switchgear, UPS, PDUs, transformers, ATS, generators)
and PLC/controls platforms
supporting automation, monitoring, and power management.
Oversee complex diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and resolution of critical failures involving
power continuity, load transfer, system protection, automation logic, communications, and controls integration .
Lead field execution for
system integrations, retrofits, upgrades, and controls modernization , including brownfield environments and live facilities.
Ensure all service, integration, and retrofit activities comply with applicable electrical codes, automation standards, and safety requirements.
Client Engagement & Service Delivery: Serve as the executive escalation point for
critical power, controls, and system integration incidents , outages, and performance failures.
Partner with customers to develop
long-term electrical and controls service strategies , lifecycle maintenance plans, and modernization roadmaps.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to transition projects seamlessly from delivery and integration into long-term service and support.
Financial & Performance Management: Own budgeting, forecasting, margin performance, and resource planning across
field service, systems integration, retrofits, and PLC/controls execution .
Establish and track KPIs spanning response time, integration quality, modernization conversion, first-time fix rate, service margin, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
Optimize staffing models, tooling, training, inventory, and execution processes across both electrical power and controls disciplines.
Team Development & Safety Culture: Recruit, mentor, and develop field service leaders, systems integration managers, controls engineers, and electrical technicians.
Build a unified culture of
technical excellence across electrical and automation teams , emphasizing accountability, cross-discipline collaboration, and uncompromising safety.
Ensure continuous training aligned with evolving power technologies, PLC platforms, communications networks, and customer operational requirements.
Qualifications Required
10+ years of experience in service, manufacturing, or a related field , with prior experience overseeing
both strategic and operational functions .
10+ years of progressive leadership experience spanning
field service, systems integration, PLC/controls execution, and electrical power operations .
Demonstrated expertise in
electrical power infrastructure
(switchgear, UPS, PDUs, transformers, ATS, generators)
and PLC/controls-based systems
used in mission-critical environments.
Strong background in service delivery, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting,
controls integration , and retrofit execution.
Proven success leading geographically distributed, multi-discipline technical organizations.
P&L ownership with demonstrated ability to scale profitable service and integration businesses.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage executive customers and highly technical teams.
Preferred
— Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical degree.
Experience supporting data centers, utilities, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical environments.
Familiarity with protective relaying, power monitoring, industrial networks, PLC platforms, and service management systems.
Track record of building and professionalizing integrated service and systems execution organizations.
