Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer Pay Rate: up to $100 per hour Location: Bothell, WA Employment Type: Contract (6+ months) Expected start date: January 2026

Job Overview:

A Senior Embedded Software Engineering job in Bothell, WA is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. in Software Engineering or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience. This position involves design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for real-time control systems, guidance and navigation, and telemetry.

Job Duties

Lead as a SME for software development, peer reviews, and design updates

Guide team throughout the software development lifecycle, including process development and improvement

Perform functional analysis and trade studies to design software solutions

Analyze software architecture and requirements to define system behavior, allocate requirement, integrate systems and perform verification

Plan technical milestones and supporting documentation and presentation materials

Brief internal and external customers

Required Qualifications

Due to the nature of the work performed, US CITIZENSHIP is a REQUIREMENT

Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent

10+ years experience in developing embedded software solutions

Proven embedded software development experience using C/C++

Experience architecting embedded software solutions for safety‑critical applications

Thorough understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented programming principles

Experience implementing communication protocols, sensor interfacing, and signal processing

Experience with system integration including hardware/software interactions

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Strong problem‑solving skills and creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions.

Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success.

Self‑starter that can perform independently with minimal direction.

Deep understanding of missile systems, components, and certification.

Experience designing scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Familiarity with model‑based design.
