As the Director of Tennis, you are responsible for the overall operation of your facility. This includes the maintenance and improvement of the club’s services and the security and protection of the club’s assets. Previous industry experience is a requirement for the position.
Ideal candidates have flexible schedules and availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed.

Job Expectations
More than 50% of your work schedule will be of an administrative and supervisory nature
Enforces all club and corporate policies and procedures
Supervises all tennis play and proper charging of fees
Initiates, directs, and promotes tennis clinics, special events and programs to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests
Provides beginning through advance instruction (private and group) for all levels and ages of players
Implements and develops lesson programs for adults and juniors
Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities daily prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order
Reports any maintenance problems to the appropriate person
Monitors court usage including special events, clinics, and lessons
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Manages staff members that may include but is not limited to: Tennis Instructors, pro shop staff, maintenance staff
Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new staff member. Implements company training programs
Manages the tennis shop, if applicable
Responsible for knowing the facility POS system
Implements the Corporate inventory control system policy and reports results as required
Ensures revenue is properly recorded into POS system and reconciled daily to schedule
Strong knowledge of tennis merchandise to properly give information to consumers
Writes and edits all tennis-related news for the facility newsletter and website
Develops a detailed annual calendar of tennis activities and coordinates with Corporate Marketing applicable promotion campaigns
Maintains a close working relationship with the Facility General Manager/Owner and non-tennis facility staff
Education and Experience Requirements
At least a high school education or GED
Regularly required to reach with arms and hands
Often is required to walk, stand, talk or hear, handle, feel or operate objects
Occasionally be required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs occasionally
Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions
Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
Work weekends and holidays
