Are you ready for your next career challenge? The Defense Sector has an opening for a Field Engineering Manager position to support our customer in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will be a member of the Towed Array Intermediate Maintenance Activity (TA IMA) team in San Diego, California, where this site provides direct fleet support with towed acoustic systems installed on submarines and surface ships, including 24/7/365 worldwide casualty assistance (CASREP) support. Other responsibilities of the program include shipping/receiving/warehousing, government property administration, and asset tracking.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as the Site Manager for the Towed Array Intermediate Maintenance Activity (TA IMA) program in San Diego, CA, coordinating day-to-day site operations and 24/7/365 CASREP support.

Plan, coordinate, and execute shipping and receipt, testing/troubleshooting, repair, and waterfront support of towed array evolutions (installation, removal, and testing) of submarine and surface ship towed sonar systems.

Ensure all site equipment is regularly maintained and fully serviceable; operate the facility in compliance with NAVOSH regulations.

Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of Government-owned property on site and manage property control in accordance with FAR.

Build effective relationships and communicate with US Navy personnel, DOD civilians, and DOD support contractors.

Act as a “working manager”; within twelve months of hire, complete standard program technical qualifications on the towed arrays and shipboard handling systems up to the Pier-side Supervisor level.

Coordinate subordinate recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Oversee training and qualification plans and performance status of site personnel; travel as needed for meetings or technical support services.

Support contingency in which government accepts the candidate’s resume/credentials as satisfactory for inclusion as key personnel.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors Degree with 5+ years of experience or Masters Degree with 3+ years of experience.

Two+ years in a management position providing leadership and guidance to personnel engaged in technically-oriented activities.

5 years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, and repair of US Navy submarine and surface ship towed arrays and handling systems, including experience with equipment such as AN/BQQ-5, AN/BQQ-6, AN/BQQ-10, SQQ-89, OK-410, OK-276, OA9070 Series, or OK-542.

Experience with US Navy organization, communications and logistics processes.

Prior US military leadership experience at the senior NCO level.

Prior military experience with direct operational and technical experience with towed sonar systems.

Experience interpreting and executing DOD contract documents and statements of work.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (2010/2013).

Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Must have a US Passport and a valid driver’s license.

Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Preferred

Prior Navy experience working with Towed Array systems as a senior NCO (E7-CPO, E8-SCPO or E9-MCPO).

Prior experience with direct training of Towed Array systems.

Pay Range Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
