Our client, a highly respected and well‑established association, has created a new Financial Systems Manager position and is seeking a candidate with a strong finance and analytical background and demonstrated advanced expertise in NetSuite.
The Financial Systems Manager serves as a key partner to Finance and IT and is a finance‑first systems leader responsible for owning and optimizing NetSuite and related financial applications supporting core accounting and reporting functions.
Requirements / Non‑negotiables
5–7 years of experience in financial systems, enterprise applications, or a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Expert‑level NetSuite experience with direct ownership of financial processes.
Minimum of 3 years of strong accounting and finance background; must understand core accounting, close, and reporting without training.
Experience partnering with IT while independently owning finance system functionality.
This role requires expert‑level, hands‑on NetSuite experience and a strong accounting and finance background, as the individual will be the functional authority on financial processes. While the position reports into IT, finance domain expertise is required upon hire; the role will collaborate with IT leadership on technical execution but will independently own finance requirements, system configuration, and process alignment.
Job Description System Support & Optimization
Provide day‑to‑day support for financial systems, including troubleshooting issues and delivering timely resolutions.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks, errors, and improvement opportunities.
Evaluate and optimize financial system workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Project Management & Implementation
Lead and support system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations in partnership with IT and business stakeholders.
Develop and execute test plans to ensure system functionality and quality assurance.
Support change management activities, including documentation and end‑user training.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
Gather, analyze, and document business, user, solution, and data requirements.
Manage requirements for financial systems and interfaces throughout the full lifecycle.
Conduct data analysis to identify system gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
Serve as a functional subject matter expert and system advocate for financial applications.
Partner closely with Finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Support financial reporting and analytical needs as required.
Security, Governance & Compliance
Maintain system access controls and support financial system security standards.
Assist in defining and enforcing data governance policies.
Support compliance efforts, including audit preparation and documentation.
