Project Manager – Huntsville, Alabama
Leidos Defense Manufacturing Sector is seeking a Project Manager to join our team located in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will support a critical air defense program by overseeing, coordinating, and managing projects needed to scale manufacturing capability at our existing Leidos Manufacturing facilities in Huntsville, Alabama. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring requirements and milestones are being met, developing budgets and schedules, establishing program plan requirements, and monitoring performance to meet contractual, cost, and schedule objectives.
This position will report to the Manufacturing Operations Director and will work with the manufacturing, functional support, and program teams to ensure projects are executed and meet objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop resource‑loaded project schedules and manage tasks, dependencies, and risks to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Oversee and coordinate multiple projects while monitoring and managing risks.
Collaborate with manufacturing facility teams, including functional support, contracts, subcontracts, finance, and security, to ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet cost, performance, and schedule objectives.
Set project goals, develop plans to meet those goals, and report status throughout the project lifecycle.
Brief and present project plans to key stakeholders.
Organize meetings to discuss project goals and progress.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated success in working with leadership to understand and define resource needs of your project.
Experience performing project audits; monitoring corrective actions; managing process improvement; performing process checks on internal procedures; reviewing contract deliverables.
Demonstrated success in multi‑tasking, self‑assigning work, and functioning in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
Prior experience managing complex projects including scope baselining, budgeting, scheduling, and performance monitoring and reporting.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville – North Alabama, AL.
Must be a US Citizen and possess a Final Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles, manufacturing metrics, and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software.
Familiarity with Solumina MES software.
Familiarity with Agile or Windchill PLM software.
Strong personnel, planning, and project management skills.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Pay Range $73,450.00 – $132,775.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
