Summary We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Research Audiologist to join our team. This role focuses on advancing audiological knowledge and technologies through clinical research, data analysis, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing solutions to improve hearing health, assistive technologies, and auditory processing therapies.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine and specialized procedures to monitor effects among personnel exposed to tactical insults
Perform vestibular, neurocognitive, behavioral, physiological, and performance assessments
Manage and analyze data, including multivariate analyses
Communicate and interact professionally with research volunteers
Conduct phlebotomy and manage biospecimens if properly trained
Work flexible hours, including early or late shifts, overnight, weekends, and multi-day TDY visits to military training sites
Provide guidance and instruction to other research staff
Prepare and present experimental findings at laboratory discussions, scientific meetings, and in scientific journals
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge
Proficiency in using statistical software packages such as MS Excel, SPSS, R, and SAS
Proficiency in using audiological testing equipment and data analysis tools
Strong understanding of auditory physiology, psychoacoustics, and related fields
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Audiology, Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific research, particularly in audiology or related fields
Proven experience in conducting original scientific research, including literature integration, research methods, data collection, management, and statistical analysis
Experience with military operations-based or clinical research is highly desirable
US Citizen - Must be able to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC)
Preferred Qualifications
Programming experience
Neuroscience background
Pupillometry or eye-tracking assessment experience
Advanced certifications in audiological research or clinical audiology are preferred
Pay and Benefits The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to 135,000.00.
