Welder - 1st Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated welder to oversee and participate in the fabrication, installation, assembly, and insulation of industrial ovens being built. This role requires hands-on labor work with an emphasis on MIG welding, which will constitute approximately 20-25% of the job.
Responsibilities
- Perform labor-intensive tasks related to the installation of insulation.
- MIG weld beads up to 4 inches as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints for accurate installation and welding tasks.
- Utilize hand and power tools for fabrication work.
- Work with various materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum.
- Operate a press brake and perform mechanical tasks as required.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work diagrams.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of fabrication and mechanical operations.
- Experience with materials such as stainless steel, carbon, and aluminum.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Supervisor material with a strong understanding of MIG processes.
- Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Prepared to wear steel toe shoes as part of the dress code.

Work Environment
The work will be conducted in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing facility. Employees are required to wear steel toe shoes, and the role involves working a 10-hour shift from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with weekly hours ranging from 40 to 50 hours.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
