Role Plumbing Designer
Location Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Duration 6+ Months
Position Description The Plumbing and Process Piping Design Team is creating the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting‑edge detailed design of chemical and hydronic utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. Standardization, Documentation, and training is key to maintaining the consistency of the life cycle of these designs.
Responsibilities
Develop design document standards and exemplars per the client current workflow utilizing Revit MEP fabrication, Revizto, Navisworks, BlueBeam, and AutoCAD
Develop piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) or single line diagram.
Present design in 2D and 3D at cross-discipline coordination meetings.
Create customized revit family parts from scratch or product spec.
Develop training documentation of our modeling & BIM standards
Establish onboarding documentation for new hires and contract Design positions
Develop a repository for organized delivery of documents
Hold training sessions for teams to apprehend and implement established standards and SOP
Review drawing package submittals for technical and aesthetic accuracy
Understand the fundamentals of water distribution, sanitary and vent system, storm system, medium pressure compressed air system is preferred.
Requirements
5+ years of Revit MEP fabrication experience with understanding of fabrication part database, process, mechanical and plumbing Design and evidence of exceptional abilities
Proof of knowledge in creating spool drawings using software such as Ez-Iso
Experience as a detailed designer or drafter in Process Piping Design, Mechanical Piping Design, plumbing design, Process Improvement, BIM or Operations within a high‑tech industry, such as Petro‑Chem, Pharmaceutical, Food & Bev and Semiconductor
Proficient in the use of Revit MEP fabrication, AutoCAD, Revizto, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
