Job Summary Supervises the mechanical, controls, and animation maintenance activities in area of responsibility. Contributes to routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities of all maintenance functions for the area of responsibility. Manages and leads technical staff, including continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Manages the preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities within area of responsibility. Facilitates the hiring, training, and scheduling of employees with respective work areas.

Major Responsibilities

Supervises all ride maintenance with hands‑on involvement. Ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is maintained in like new condition, responds to attraction interruptions and works to resolve such issues in an expedient manner. Interfaces with Operations counterparts on a regular basis to ensure delivery of quality product and maintaining a high level of positive customer service. Acts as building/area owner, reporting any issues and maintaining downtime work activities.

Oversees the planning and scheduling process for the work area, managing preventative, predictive, corrective maintenance, and part procurement. Analyzes operational performance of the attractions and manages priorities of maintenance activities.

Supervises and leads training and development of all direct reports in assigned area. Administers development plans regularly and as required. Manages schedules and personnel records. Ensures safety compliance of the area and adherence to all Universal Orlando policies and procedures, with safety as the top priority.

Ensures operational throughput requirements are supported daily. Executes preventative and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime. Maintains records of completed maintenance and coordinates work efforts with operational needs, working directly with all affected departments to ensure the highest level of customer service.

Ensures all areas of responsibility are in compliance with ASTM F‑24 guidelines and manufacturers’ requirements.

Focuses on fiscal responsibility, controlling budget spend and reporting properly. Assists in building mitigation plans for budget overages, contributes to routine budget building, monitors overtime, and supports capital and expense planning.

Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Technical school preferred.

Associate’s degree (AA) in General Education or Technology preferred.

Experience

5–7 years of technical and trade experience required.

1–3 years of supervisory experience required.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information

Manages all maintenance activities for rides, shows, and guest interactive areas for a specific area. Manages routine, expense and capital budgets for that area and supervises all hourly personnel in the area.

Completes PQS for primary venues of responsibility within 6 months.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
