Job Summary Raytheon needs a Program Operations Manager for Ship Systems Integration & Sustainment onsite in Andover, Massachusetts for the DBR/Zumwalt product line. The role provides opportunities to grow skills in operations management, technical operations, business communications, and leadership. The individual will coordinate with the Manufacturing Value Streams and other Functional Partners to ensure on‑time integration of material and labor to support manufacturing and contract schedules.

The position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires presence in Andover and Portsmouth factory areas. The ideal candidate will have technical, program, and manufacturing leadership experience. Success will involve driving overall management across proposal, capture, planning, execution, delivery, and close‑out phases.

What You Will Do

Serve as the primary interface across all operation value streams.

Lead operations role by presenting reports to customers and internal program and business leadership.

Manage and coordinate recurring and non‑recurring manufacturing resources to support program requirements.

Oversee operations development or execution of manufacturing plans through gate processes, supporting quarterly estimate at complete (EAC) and cost performance reviews.

Coordinate program schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, subcontracts, engineering, mission assurance, and other functional areas.

Support manufacturing operations strategy development, communication, and implementation.

Apply CORE/R6Sigma best practices to lead cost‑reduction initiatives for recurring efforts and new opportunities.

Coordinate operations bids for new development and production proposals.

Define operational schedules, priorities, and goals for each manufacturing value stream, assessing workload and capacity/resources to generate production and make/where plans.

Accountable for operations execution of all program scope to meet cost, schedule, and quality performance, identifying issues, solving problems, and recovering to plan.

Interface with customers to understand needs and issues, ensuring excellent service standards.

Assess and determine scope and timing for engineering change orders to product.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of internal manufacturing operations management or engineering support experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

Understanding of manufacturing tool sets and the flow from material receipt through DD250 in a defense contracting organization.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Kinaxis, PRISM/CMES.

Strong writing and verbal presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Business acumen with experience managing labor, budget, and schedule performance.

Strong project management and manufacturing process knowledge.

Leadership experience in a fast‑paced technical or manufacturing environment with multi‑organization involvement.

Successful record of building cross‑functional teams for cost reduction, cycle time reduction, and barrier removal.

Experience with TDP reviews and approval via Product Data Management.

EVMS Level 2 certification and CORE/Six Sigma experience.

Capital planning, MRL assessments, and Make/Buy/Where process experience.

Knowledge of IPDS.

Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this role is $124,000 – $250,000. Pay is based on experience, role, and responsibilities. Eligible hires may receive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, holidays, and annual incentive programs. Benefits vary by business unit and collective bargaining status.
