Overview
Document Control Specialist at Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC in Johnson City, TN. The role administers document control and records management processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant configuration information for a nuclear fuel cycle facility regulated under 10 CFR Part 70 or comparable DOE requirements. The position supports disciplined configuration control by ensuring controlled documents and records are properly reviewed, approved, issued, revised, distributed, and archived in accordance with regulatory, quality, and procedural requirements. The role interfaces with Engineering, Operations, Nuclear Safety, Licensing, Quality Assurance, and Project Controls to support safe, compliant, and efficient facility execution and operations. Responsibilities
Administer document control processes for controlled drawings, procedures, specifications, calculations, and records. Ensure documents are reviewed, approved, issued, and revised in accordance with established procedures, quality requirements, and regulatory commitments. Maintain configuration accuracy within electronic document management systems (EDMS) and engineering information systems. Support engineering and configuration change processes by ensuring proper document version control, traceability, and records integrity. Coordinate document distribution and access control to ensure personnel are using current, approved documents. Maintain records retention, storage, and archival in compliance with NRC, DOE-derived, and organizational requirements. Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and assessments related to document control and records management. Interface with Engineering, Operations, Nuclear Safety, Licensing, Quality Assurance, and Project Controls to resolve document control issues and discrepancies. Identify document control process gaps or inefficiencies and support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and best practices. Prepare document status reports, metrics, and document retrievals as requested by management or regulatory reviewers. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in document control or records management within nuclear or other highly regulated industries. Demonstrated experience with document control processes, revision control, and records management systems. Experience using electronic document management systems (EDMS). Working knowledge of configuration control concepts and engineering documentation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and apply procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting an NRC-licensed fuel cycle facility regulated under 10 CFR Part 70. DOE nuclear facility document control experience as a substitute for NRC fuel cycle experience. Familiarity with NRC guidance such as NUREG-1520 or equivalent regulatory guidance. Experience supporting facility construction, startup, readiness activities, or major facility modifications. Experience supporting audits, inspections, or regulatory reviews. Other Job Requirements
United States Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain required DOE and/or NRC security access authorization. Ability to work on-site; this position is not eligible for remote work. Application
