Project Supervisors are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of detainees in custody, acting in accordance with the highest ethical standards at all times, and ensuring a spirit of fairness and integrity in the ongoing execution of Detention Officers and Transportation Officers in their duties. Project Supervisors are assigned inside the detention facility and are directly responsible for the supervision and movement of Officers and detainees within the facility secure perimeter.

Responsibilities

Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required in the contract.

Exercises surveillance and control over Officers and detainees and maintains order and discipline.

Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility.

Provides care, custody and control of detainees.

Successfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and a course requiring a minimum physical stamina.

Ensures shift scheduling provides adequate staff coverage for their shift.

Completes a health, safety and sanitation inspection of each post.

Completes shift reports to be turned into the Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer (SDDO) and AGS shift Captain.

Inspects facility and unit Logs for accuracy.

Maintains the secure and orderly operation of facility in accordance with the Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) and the American Correctional Association (ACA) standards.

Ensures the sanitation of the facility is maintained.

Ensures that staff assigned to the Florence Facility maintain accurate documentation of all activities on their assigned post and ensure staff signs their assigned Post Orders.

Coordinates movement and transfers with the ICE Transportation Coordinator or Transportation Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications

US citizenship is required.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

A minimum of 5 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.

Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).

Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.

Pass all pre‑employment and random drug tests.

Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.

At least 21 years of age.

Possess a valid state driver's license.

Ability to obtain and maintain a state security guard license.

Ability to walk through all areas of the facility for tours and compliance inspections in varied weather conditions.

Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time.

Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations.

Ability to work without restrictions and limitations.

Ability to greet and deal tactfully and professionally with the general public.

Capability of following and interpreting / understanding written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and can compose written and oral reports.

Ability to exercise good judgment: courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through his/her responsibilities.

Ability to maintain poise and self‑control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress such as disturbances, altercations, fires, and building evacuations.

Maintain a professional personal appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential information.

Possess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the American Correctional Association and DHS ICE National Detention Standards.

Demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles, with a cross‑cultural perspective.

Maintain current/physical residency in the continental United States.

This position requires the candidate to maintain physical fitness standards and must be able to pass and maintain required physical testing requirements and standards which includes:

Must be able to lift a heavy object up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.

Must be able to push a wheelchair‑bound individual weighing up to 300 lbs and help the individual in and out of a chair.

Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twist, reach overhead and climb stairs, ladders, and slopes periodically.

Strictly maintain physical fitness standards for a law‑enforcement related position throughout your employment under this contract.
