Shift Details This position is based in a high-volume, 24-hour outpatient pharmacy that offers a variety of shift options to support work-life balance. Pharmacist shifts generally fall within the 6:45 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. timeframe, allowing for schedule variety, flexibility, and collaboration across a large, experienced team.

Holidays Pharmacists participate in a shared holiday rotation, ensuring coverage is evenly distributed across the team. This structure promotes fairness while maintaining consistent patient care during key times of the year.

Weekends Weekend coverage is planned in advance and shared across all pharmacists, with each team member working a set number of weekends annually. This approach supports predictable scheduling and allows for balance throughout the year.

Job Summary Using independent decision making and critical thinking skills, the Pharmacist promotes medication use that is safe, effective and considers the costs and benefits of therapy to maximize value. The Pharmacist interacts with other members of the healthcare team and with patients to proactively address medication therapy issues. The Pharmacist ensures patient care is maintained through compliance with the department's quality improvement plan, and the Joint Commission/Center for Medicare/Medicaid standards for pharmaceutical services.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION A minimum of 1 year hospital or 3 years of other pharmacy experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE certified school of pharmacy is required. Successful completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 or specialty residency is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION Demonstrates effective use of computers and applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook) as appropriate to practice and communicate effectively. Active membership in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) preferred. Active membership in the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or other national pharmacy organizations as approved by the Pharmacy Administration preferred.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligible for and must obtain within 6 months.
